BAY Swim Team

If you enjoy the sport of swimming and spirit of competition,
come join the Bloomsburg Area YMCA “Barracudas” Swim Team!

The BAY Barracudas swim team is a highly competitive USA/YMCA age group program with emphasis on fun and learning. Our certified adult personnel help promote character development by challenging all participants to accept and demonstrate the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility. The BAY swim team is well recognized for its emphasis on stroke technique and a balanced, age-appropriate approach to training.

BAY includes all levels of competition from novice to the exceptional. Learning continues through all levels, refining strokes and building speed and endurance. Our primary goal throughout each season is to develop each individual athlete to his/her full potential.

Last year our swimmers finished 2nd at the CPYSL Championships held in February at the Williamsport High School Natatorium .Other highlights were:

8 and Under boys and girls went undefeated
10 and Under Boys and Girls went undefeated
12 and under Boys and Girls finished 2nd
14 and Under Boys finished 2nd
15 and Over Girls finished 2nd
Sent 27 swimmers to the YMCA Eastern Pennsylvania State Districts
12 swimmers moved on to compete in the YMCA Pennsylvania East/West State Championship.
2 swimmers qualified for YMCA Nationals

This was a result of a lot of hard work done by the swimmers and coaches, and this year we expect the same if not better results. The YMCA Barracuda Swim Team is open to any children from the ages of 5 to 18 provided they have some swimming ability.
